So I mentioned before that stepping back and disentangling my personal life from my story has yielded many benefitsss, such as that of being able to see silly decisions that were made for silly reasons.

This is James' original gang.

Some unavoidable people drama made it so that I had to replace Cory, far left.
SO I replaced him with Pete, pictured here on the right.

But I cannot, CANNOOOTTTT for the life of me remember why I replaced Dim with Charley, blond on the left. Why did I do that? Why?? I'm lookin, and he is a pretty unique characters, in comparison to the rest of them. He is like James' muscley muscleman, and yeah Christian's gang has Donahue, who is a big ol beefcake also, but Donahue actually has a brain with thoughts in it. Dim would have spoken in grunts, and generally would've just been like the gang's pet rhinoceros.

Now, I love Charley and Pete both, but they are pretty similar. They are both regularish-sized, broodyish boys. And even if they aren't ttly the same, they are at least MUCH more similar than Cory and Dim were. Pretty much what I did was take two happily diverse characters and replace them with two who are more or less the same. They even go after the same person lovewise (maybe).

So here is a mistake, and a big big one indeed. What I'm probably gonna do is bring Dim back and replace one of these two guys, even though I'm already like how many pages in. Hopefully no one still reading is very shook up about it.
I just have to decide who....
Or maybe I won't after all. Dim is cute, but since he is such a flat character, it's not like he has a big part in any plot whatever. Both these boys (and the parrot) do. I guess I'm just bummed about the loss of Dim bc I recently reread this comic here:

Hey, hi, hallo.

I am kinda like being forced out of hiatus by some things in life, which is funny and weird but also okay. I think I am more or less ready to come back anyway, I am just being lazy at this point.

One cool thing that has happened as a result of me being gone is that I have become less attached to my own characters. This makes it possible for me to put the story ahead of the characters, which is, in myy opinionnn, where it should be anyway. FOR EXAMPLE. In this weirdo circus story I have been mulling over since the dawn of time, a character named George was the main character. This presented problems because George has feathers growing out of his head and I have no real reason for why he is a tenthand and not a sideshow freak, or even why he has them since his past has nothing to do with the story. BUT, since I wrote it with him in mind, it was a wrench to think about changin his appearance or him or whatever, lalala but NOW THAT I DON'T REALLY CARE (jk, of course I still care but just not as stupidly and obsessively) I am free to change the main character to somebody else, and now there won't be any weirdo nonsensical details that nobody else understands or even cares about, like the main character having feathers growin out of his silly ass head.

ALsoo. this leaves me free to use George for stories he actually belongs in, like maybe one in which he shoots badguys or something. Actually, he probably doesn't really belong there either, but who cares! I can change his past so that he does. and IT WILL BE BETTER FOR EVERYONE since nobody even know what his past is, really! no one is attached to him the way I used to be, so there's no longer any reason why I can't change everything to be superfabulously perfect. There's no reason why I can't do this for everybody. I could change Merky's eye color to something less absurd, finally! Maybe brown!

Tis a wild and silly freedom.

lol too bad i still don't have any ability to keep workin on stuff, that probably woulda been a better development. maybe.
WOW, BTW, i have discovered the lost mobisodes like a million years later than everybody else and WOW, WOW, ALL THIS STUFF HAPPENS THAT YOUD THINK WOULD BE IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR AN ACTUAL EPISODE BUT NO? NO? I GUESS NOT

i AAaahh hm. I have entered into a kindof unannounced hiatus, it looks like, and it has been good for my bones. I think I'm gonna stay away from the interblags for a littel while longer and recharge my shits. This actually kinda happens often, so I think I will just accept that and do my best to let everybody know when I am feeling like I need to disappear for a while.

comics will return with a vengeance, i promisepromise. I am scripting at least once a week, even if I'm not here to post stuff.

so I noticed that Buzzcomix reset Bulys's's vote count.
So I can see that once I finally give those guys a number of votes or whatever goal to aim for, I will have to do my part by updating regularlyyy bc I am hypothesizizing that it resets the votes if nobody votes in long enough of a time. I might be wrong, though. But either way, strictly super regularly weekly comics is gonna mean a lot more commitment from me, which means a big fat change in the way I do my life usually.
I don't mind doing it for Bulys, I just have to figure out how I'm gonna dig my heels in and do it.

Also. in case anyone cares but has not noticed, Redhawks is gone! Why! Why is this!
It is because I don't actually know what happens next, so I wanted to hiatus it. I figured if I was gonna have a third comic, I'd be better off with this other one I'm planning, with a lot less characters (Redhawks was shaping up to have as much characters as Bulys, if not more. Horrible!) and a lot less complicationsszszszsss.
And since I foresaw it as being a very, very long hiatus, I decided to take it down altogether because I don't like inactive comics lying around and taking up my shits. Why is Jamgry still around then, you ask? And wait, where did that 'goodbye forever' image go, asketh ye?
HM I DUNNO. I DUN REALLY KNOW. HMMM.

It... I had decided to delete Redhawks before new years, but it only occurred to me to warn everybody or direct them all to my next comic after I deleted it all ): Of course.

umm. Well I think that's it. Sorry, I don't have a pictuuure. I made a New Years resolution to draw evverydayy BUT, so far it has just been lots of doodles on my notes and stuff. I scripted the next few pages of Bulys! So, look forward!

In case you don't know about her, Princess Langwidere is this girl from Oz who is very occupied with appearance and stuff lalala, only instead of changing her hair and makeup, she has like 30 different beautiful heads and changes those instead.
i saw the part of return to oz with her in it, and i won't tell you what happened but it was very supercreepy (hello, thirty heads) but when I tried watchin wizard of oz later in life SHE WAS NOT IN IT WHAT. But then I learned while studying for my fables final that she is in another book. So here she is, to celebrate that I have finally found a creepy part of my childhood.

I like the idea of having lots of heads, just bc I really like dressing up and having as many different costumes and styles and stuff as I can. And I love my skin and everythin, but I think it would be a SUPER ULTRA FUN to be able to switch heads and experience the beauty of all other kinds of ethnicities.
So I wanted my Langwidere to be all multicultural and also be in the latest fashion whatevers(also like half asleep since she is hilariously lazy, but that part didn't happen) but THENN i ended up restarting my computer and I can't save anything in the trial so here she remains a WIP with only two heads forever and ever.

anywayyyYYYY So I spent like seventy thousand hours last night doing html stuff for to make the art/fanart gallery for the bulypage. And even after I put all that work into it, it STILL looked like a piece of crap bc the template is a piece of crap, and I really started thinking about how the 'web' part of the webcomic is way more important than anybody thinks. Everyone judges books by their cover, no one can do anything about it. And presentation is even more important with webcomics bc you see the cover (being the website) every time you turn the page, you can't just like tear it off and like take a poo on it like you would with a regular comicbook. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I think Bulys is a pretty cool story and it is a shame to me that its website is really not pretty cool at all

then I got to thinking about how, if I had someone to do my webpages AND my toning (i hate toning i hate toning) then my life would be SO EXCELLENT bc updates would be like quickquick succession and i wouldn't even have to do anything difficult. And then I realized that people actually have other people doing that stuff for them, they are called awesome friends lol.

i should look and see what awesome friends I can beg for mercy from. I am luckier than most in that I have friends I can whine to all BOOHOOHOOO HAAALLP HALLP BOOHOOHOOO (lol nemubear does this sound familiar) and they will halp. Especially when I no longer have the gumption or malleable brains to become a master of web-crafting.

anyway, the point is. Now that I have figured out how important it is, exxpect awesome layouts in the future. One way or anotherrr i will have themmm oyaa

But a lady emailed me back and everything)

Part of the reason I wanna do this is it will give me incentive to work REALLY HARD until Fanime comes, so that I can build up a little bit more of a FRIENDBASE and. actually have people to hang out with lol.

specificallyyy uuhhh auau. I wish i could perform to my fullest more often than I do. I feel like I can do way, way better and prettier pages than I am doing right now, it's just that blauaugh. I know it's bad if I switch into quality over quantity mode because then absssolutely nothing will get done but I just get all jealous and grumpy when I see people's comics with arts and stuff and unhhhhh hhfffPFHOFFPOFF. whatever.

I also have a feeling like I'm wasting all my good ideas by making them practice comics like I am. I know it's the dumbest thing ever because I still have like 60 more years of my life (hopefully) to make more, BETTER ideas, but ugh ugh I just can't shake the feeling ): Like I really don't see how it gets much better than boys screaming and punching each other.
Oohhh. Hopefully when I finally finish my current comics, I will be such a colossal comic expert that I can make pages that are as pretty as they are abundantttttt and I will be king of everything.
